Today I've spent hours with a feverish child, changed many soiled crib sheets, done lots of loads of laundry, got freaked out by a snake in the yard, baked cupcakes for small group tomorrow, cleaned the whole house, tried and tried to convince said child to eat, changed more diapers than I have in a long time, held and comforted and administered Tylenol.... it's 8:30 and I think I'm going to bed!
But all day I've been thinking of my own mom and how many times I remember being the sick child parked on the comfy couch all day, surrounded by blankets that were carefully tucked in around my feet. My juice cup was always filled. My hair stroked. Anything I needed was there. And even though I don't remember her carrying loads of laundry and mopping the floor and washing the dishes...now I know she did all that and more! Kids don't see those things, but they remember feeling loved.
So thanks Mom. :)
That´s because they are so loved.
